The following description of this product reveals the story line and plots. Read only if you know you won't deprive yourself of an evening of gleeful entertainment by familiarising yourself with the details of this adventure.

A small town where the characters find themselves is the scene of a series of murders. The murderer is a fisherman possessed by a demonic virus that controls his acts. The virus is comprised of a bunch of demons who mutated after a long imprisonment under the lake next to the village. It is very contagious and the PCs might face powerful enemies infected with it. The virus comes from a temple shaped as a 240 feet statue of a demon. Hundreds of years ago this temple was the site of evil worship and sacrifice. A powerful cleric worked a miracle that flooded the area of the temple and covered it with blessed water that effectively sealed it off and imprisoned its denizens. A recent drought lowered the water level of the lake, permitting the mutated virus demons to escape and providing access to the top of the temple. At the same time as this is happening, the leader of the demons trapped inside the temple is working a ritual to go back in time and prevent the powerful cleric from sealing them off.

The characters enter and explore the giant statue temple, or fane, and work their way to its heart. They are challenged by clever traps and puzzles, demons, fiendish fire giants, night hags, a beholder, some undead and other high CR creatures. They have to participate into a three part demonic ceremony in order to gain access to the core of the temple. In the end, they face the half-demon leader of the cult and must prevent him from changing the past in a destructive way while they can change it in a way that solves the problem without it ever happening.

This module uses prestige classes, spells and a creature form "The Book of Eldritch Might", which is a plus. Guidelines to on how to substitute elements from "The Book of Eldritch Might" are provided so that the module can be used without the previous book. The dungeon crawl is interesting and original.
